Rachel Baraza is a Parental Empowerment facilitator with over 20 years of experience. She holds a diploma in Secretarial studies from the now Technical University of Kenya. Rachel serves as a board member at Olympic High School, a P.T.A member at Olympic Primary School, Saint Elizabeth High School and Red Rose Academy. Rachel is the Chairperson of Building a Network of Peace (B-NEP), Chairlady in Kibera Peace and Reconciliation Network (KIPRENET). She serves as treasurer in many organizations including Baseball Federation of Kenya
She has worked with other organizations like: Stadi Za Maisha to screen gifted children in Nairobi County Schools, NACADA in the Langata Alcoholic and Control Board, Saint John as a family matters Facilitator in Healthy Outcomes through Prevention Education (HOPE) program, Global Communities as a family matters facilitator, and Heshima Kenya as an impact evaluator for vulnerable refugee girls living in Kenya in the year 2017.
She also participated in certified training in Resource mobilization, Organization Management, Family Matters program, Emergency Response in Planning Conflict Sensitivity and Humanitarian Accountability Frameworks, Peace Building and Conflict Resolution programs by Care-Kenya funded by USAID.
She is a Secretary of COPEK; Nairobi Chapter, treasurer at Nairobi County Peace Women Caucus, a member of the Nairobi County Mediation Panel and also a member of Kibra Sub-county Peace Committee, and works closely with the local administration in Nairobi. She participated in a women Conference in Burundi in year 2012 as a guest facilitator on Peace Building and Mediation.
She attended Professional and Umpiring Clinic in October 2010, sponsored by profession coaches from Triple C Sports Colorado, USA. Since then she spearheads the introduction of baseball in Nairobi schools using her educational network.
Considering her extensive experience and collaborations, Rachel has been a great asset to Baseball Federation of Kenya and serves as the Treasurer and Chairperson of the finance committee.
