In 2021 The Baseball Federation of Kenya (BFK) and the Uganda Baseball and Softball Association (UBASA) launched the Mt. Elgon baseball championship which is to be held annually. This year the championship will be held in Nairobi at a date to be confirmed. This is due to the disruption of schools calendar occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic. Many of the participants from both countries are learners and students from lower levels to the university level signed up for various age categories of the sport including U12, U15, U18, U23 and seniors.
